It all started with a 400 sq ft retail shop in Downtown Delafield in 2005. I had wanted to open a boutique for years. Finding beautiful clothes and toys was not hard and before long, we were overflowing! I was vastly stretched.
Nique started shopping at our small boutique and within 6 months, became my much needed partner! She brought a wealth of insight, shopping experience and down to earth common sense. Together, we decided to move our overflowing boutique next door into a beautiful 1800's Cream City brick building complete with an English Garden where we had our first fashion show! After the move, Melissa came along and fell in love with the shop! Bringing her own vision with her, within 6 months, we had opened a second floor baby registry including the latest of great products. The best way to describe our relationship: we make room for each other!
Together, we have an exciting opportunity to create a great, friendly, shopping environment; bringing beautiful items to our Downtown Delafield shop as well as our website. We continue to be amazed at how good it can be when you step out in faith with a vision!

I moved to the Delafield area shortly before having my first child. My husband and I always planned to move back to Chicago, but we fell in love with the area and people. In 2006, just after having our second child, we decided we would stay here. When I met Jenny we had an instant connection. I loved her ideas and when presented the opportunity to join the Bark River Kids team, was very excited. I love being around children and as a trained NCIDQ certified interior designer, I am able to outlet my creativity in a different way than I have in the past. This experience gives me the opportunity to merge many passions. The people that come into our shop everyday make this journey even sweeter. Everyday we get the opportunity to meet people from all over and I love it!
